 Cincinnati bengals logoThe Cincinnati Bengals are a National Football League (NFL) team based in Cincinnati, Ohio. They play in the North Division of the American Football Conference (AFC). The Cincinnati Bengals are out to make at least one major post-June free agent signing this year. Sources outside the Denver Broncos have confirmed that the Bengals have reached an agreement with defensive tackle Daryl Gardener.

 
 

The contract is said to be set for four years, for the sum of $9.3 million. The Denver Broncos had signed Gardener to a seven year, $34.8 million deal in March 2003, but he ended up playing in four games with eight tackles. Denver release Gardener on June 1.In other news, the Bengals have waived halfback Nick Ayers, named Chuck Bresnahan assistant coach, named Bob Bedinghaus director of development for Paul Brown Stadium, signed running back Rudi Johnson to a one-year contract, signed free agent tight end Michael Morris and linebacker Joe Siofele.

The Cincinnati Bengals came second in last years (2003) regular season standings, having won eight games and lost eight and had a .500 percentage. Founded in 1966, as an American Football League (AFL) expansion franchise and joined the NFL in 1970. The Bengals have won two American Football Conference Championships (1981 and 1988), have won five Division Championships (AFC Central) in 1970, 1973, 1981, 1988 and 1990, and have appeared in the playoffs seven times since 1970.
